Verdure’s Thymocid® Obtains Non-GMO Project Verification
Verdure Sciences is excited to announce that Thymocid Extract, from black cumin seed oil, has received the Non-GMO Project Verified status! Thymocid joins the ranks of other Non-GMO Project Verified ingredient offerings at Verdure, such as Bacognize, Longvida, Pomella, WokVel, and ashwagandha.
“This verification is a welcomed and highlighted addition to the traceability efforts we have put forth into our portfolio of ingredient solutions – especially with the increased traction Thymocid has been gaining,” said Sonya Cropper, VP of Marketing & Innovation at Verdure Sciences. “We anticipate that this verification will translate into new finished product applications and showcase the wealth of effort we continue to dedicate to our ingredients beyond clinical support. Additionally, obtaining verifications and certifications similar to this provides an extra layer of transparency to the efforts Verdure already has in place. It is nothing short of exciting to have another brand of ours join the ranks.”
The Non-GMO Project Verification Program is North America’s only third-party verification program for non-GMO foods and ingredients, according to their website. The verification process aims to ensure that the materials and facilities used to produce Thymocid are non-GMO compliant and the process was completed and confirmed through a very rigorous process. “Consumers and manufacturers of finished products, alike, are increasingly more concerned about GMOs, verified products, and knowing about what a product really has in it and where it comes from. This drives a desire for greater transparency in the choices being sought after, which we feel the Non-GMO Project helps to offer to not only the masses, but manufacturers of finished products as well. In conjunction with the efforts we have in place here at Verdure for transparency and traceability in our ingredients, it was logical to seek third-party support from the Non-GMO Project,” said Kristen Marshall, Marketing Coordinator with Verdure Sciences.
The iconic butterfly seal of the Non-GMO Project logo is now associated with Thymocid. While the logo is not transferrable to a finished product, this does make the process more seamless for manufacturers and helps to bring even more transparency and traceability to the global marketplace. †
