Verdure Sciences And Indy Chamber’s GoGlobal Program
Verdure Sciences And Indy Chamber’s GoGlobal Program
Verdure Sciences was a recipient of a grant through the Indy Chamber’s GoGlobal Grant Export Acceleration Program. This grant is offered to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) headquartered in a nine-county Indianapolis region with the goal of fostering export growth through overseas sales.
A portion of the funds were applied to international logistics training. Joycelyn McClung, Logistics Coordinator at Verdure Sciences, “I learned the importance of using the correct Incoterms in relation to international shipments to minimize our risks, as well as our liability concerns associated with Incoterms.” The training has already greatly helped our efforts to increase efficiency while working with our overseas partners. In conjunction to this training, the US Department of Commerce conducted export coaching for several Verdure team members as part of this grant.
The remaining GoGlobal Grant funds have been allocated to help enter new international territories such as China, while also expanding Tokyo business to the list of international trade shows and meetings with the objective of reaching new channels and territories in Asia. These additional territories, if successful, will rapidly increase our exports to 50-60% of our total sales. Sonya Cropper, VP of Marketing and Innovation at Verdure Sciences, stated “Verdure continuously looks for innovative ways to penetrate new markets and channels as part of our general growth strategy.” We are excited to strategically align ingredient solutions for optimal success and direct access within Asian markets.
Verdure Sciences is extremely grateful to the Indy Chamber and the GoGlobal Grant Committee for choosing Verdure as one of the recipients for this grant. It is an honor to have the opportunity and support in our efforts to broaden our global reach into these Asian territories.
