The main aim of this research initiative for Restoridyn® is to bring awareness to the use of a proprietary blend of polyphenols (as curcuminoids and ellagitannins) to aid in the efficacy of a comprehensive exercise training program for all ages and levels of athletic ability in order to promote wellbeing. Running is a popular activity/habit for exercise training because it requires very little cost-investment compared to other sports, but it can create soreness and inflammation that can make subsequent exercise more complicated. One means to combat this is to use a comprehensive run-training-plan that considers exercise strategy, hydration, recovery, stretching, and nutritional habits. Of these components the science of nutritional habits and ingredient supplementation is still emerging, and the identification of dietary ingredients that can be consumed habitually to support exercise recovery is of great need.

Improving recovery will also make running more desirable for a larger segment of the population. This research has focused on the use of a novel blend of curcuminoids and pomegranate ellagitannins in recreational runners of various ages and abilities. The researchers on this project worked diligently to develop a model that emphasizes structure/function outcomes combined with real-world applications. This research provides further substantiation of flexible dosing for Restoridyn® that can be personalized according to the amount of effort in a given exercise session.

“It is very exciting to see the immense wealth of data and research behind Restoridyn® recognized in this prestigious award as a finalist. Restoridyn’s adaptogenic polyphenols offer supportive recovery from exercise, which helps runners maintain a consistent regimen, and a more consistent regimen helps combat the increasingly prevalent negative side effects associated with obesity,” said Leisha Jenkins, Marketing Associate at Verdure Sciences. “To be recognized as a finalist, alongside a short-list of exceptional companies and products, is an honor. Recognition as a finalist also further validates the wealth of research with over 600 mRNA biomarkers analyzed in an immunoassay platform in these clinical initiatives,” continued Jenkins.

Verdure extends recognition and thanks to the exceptional team in the Applied Physiology Laboratory at the University of North Texas for their astounding efforts, due diligence, and wealth of knowledge. It is a privilege to have been chosen as one of two finalists in the Nutrition Research Project Award category from NutraIngredients-USA we anxiously await the full, digital ceremony in July. †
