Adaptogenic Restoridyn® Targets Active Lifestyles

Adaptogenic Restoridyn® Targets Active Lifestyles

According to the 2019 Race Trends report, nearly 5.5 million people participated in fun-runs, 5 & 10Ks, and half marathon endurance races in 2018; that number is up from the 4.4 million participants in 2017.1 With so many people participating in these types of events, the sports nutrition market has seen an influx of attention, new products, and a growing need for solutions that help endurance race participants and everyday runners train, improve, and recover from the physical and mental stress of endurance activities.

Muscle soreness and fatigue, as well as an impaired immune system are often a part of the training process for athletes and novice runners alike. This fatigue, soreness, and weakened immune response can increase during times of high training, particularly after long-distance events when more stress is inflicted on the body.

Many people who aim to support an active lifestyle look for ways to mediate the natural inflammatory response, manage muscle fatigue, and maintain general wellbeing with a healthy immune system by adding supplements and nutrients to their daily regimen. Restoridyn, a patented, propriety, and synergistically studied polyphenol blend, brings together the antioxidant potency of pomegranate with the adaptogenic abilities of curcumin to create a multi-prong nutritional approach, supporting recovery and immunity, and resulting in an increase in overall performance and stamina.2-3

In clinical studies, Restoridyn demonstrated positive improvements to pro- and anti-inflammatory responses through down regulation of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that are known to regulate inflammation and COX-2 expression. Not only did athletes show improvements in post-race recovery and healthy immune system responses, but positive results to lncRNA showed that mediated inflammatory responses resulted in participants feeling less pain than those in the control group.2

We were proud to introduce Restoridyn at the 2019 SupplySide West trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. There are a lot of sports nutrition options available, but Restoridyn captures the benefits of a synergistic blend created to target multiple areas impacted by physical activity which makes it uniquely beneficial to a wide variety of active lifestyles.

Recovery time is a significant concern for those training for an endurance event and for novice runners. Longer recovery time means less time training, extended periods of muscle soreness, and less time to prepare for race day. Restoridyn maintained positive results as the combined effects also indicated that participants had no loss of ability to perform activities of daily living, nor were future training sessions compromised. These athletes showed they were less “inflamed” from their training, allowing for adequate preparation and improved recovery following the race. In fact, subjects reported being able to have a normal training session within 48-h after the race.2

Endurance training is as much a mental challenge as it is physical. Pushing through physical pain takes a lot of mental endurance and acuity, and athletes can experience mental fatigue as exhausting as the physical stress. The curcumin component within Restoridyn has been studied to improve memory, focus, and brain health which may help combat the mental fatigue that studies show affect endurance performance.
